New Home!

We are brother and sister Egyptian Mau mixes who were rescued by Kitten Rescue volunteers in Los Angeles from a shelter where we had been dumped. We think our mother was a breeding Mau who got loose so the evil breeders couldn't sell us as purebreds and put us on the sidewalk. Cruel world! We were rescued on the day we were going to be put down (eek!!!) and taken to a nice room in Echo Park. Our brother Cairo was rescued too and adopted by another family. Now all three of us have new homes! Our new guardians wanted to keep us together--one of us is a small bronze female and the other is a lanky silver male. We are really excited to be in a nice apartment in Los Feliz now! The most confusing thing is the kitchen--it seems like everything in there should be aimed at feeding us (naturally!), but we guess our guardians have to eat too, even though they aren't cats. We tried really hard to share their dinner with them but they wouldn't let us on the table. They are also trying to get us to eat out of separate bowls, but we don't pay too much attention to that. Our new home has all of these great blankets and cushions to lounge on; we especially like the box under the window with the purple fleece. We get to play with Da Bird every day, dat is so much fun (but you always hog it Merkhet! I had to stand on top of the scratching post just to get my paws on it!!!) Well, it's nap time now. Check out our photos on Picasa.
